Ivy Tech 2018 Commencement set for May 12

first_imgLawrenceburg, In. — Ivy Tech Community College will hold its 2018 Commencement on May 12 to honor and celebrate the graduation of 480 students from its Lawrenceburg and Batesville locations. The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrenceburg High School gymnasium.The College’s Lawrenceburg Campus and Batesville Site will award 664 credentials this year, including 203 associate degrees, 365 technical certificates, and 96 certificates.Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Campus Chancellor Mark Graver will officiate Commencement and will be joined by Ivy Tech President Dr. Sue Ellspermann as well as other College officials to honor the graduates. Ellspermann will address the graduates and confer the degrees and certificates.“Our students have worked extremely hard, shown great commitment and determination, and are well prepared to take the next steps on their pathways to personal and professional success,” Graver said. “The number of degrees completed at the College’s Lawrenceburg and Batesville locations serves as a meaningful and appropriate indicator of the value an Ivy Tech education offers our students and our communities.”Graduating student Caleb Pierson of Batesville will give the graduate address. Pierson is earning an associate degree in design technology.An Honorary Associate of Science degree will be presented to Dr. John Mehrle, Superintendent of South Dearborn Community School Corp., for being an outstanding advocate of and partner for Ivy Tech.last_img read more
