The victim told police he’d been shot by a man with a large gun, possibly a shotgun, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.School bus routes on East 18th Street and Todd Road were diverted and police evacuated a nearby apartment. Todd Road and a block of East 18th Street were cordoned off to traffic, and an armored police vehicle and a police dog were brought in.Read more about the shooting.Archer Mountain fire 100 percent containedAlthough the Archer Mountain Fire was declared fully contained Wednesday morning, and all evacuations lifted, firefighters will continue working in the area for several days.Typically, when a fire is declared “contained,” it means fire managers think the perimeter around the fire, whether fire lines or natural breaks in vegetation, are secure enough the fire won’t spread past them, said Nancy Marvin, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Natural Resources.
