first_imgSUMMARY: Provide project management for AV and client ITprojects undertaken by Information Technology to ensure projectsare conceived, designed, planned and executed effectively,efficiently and within time, budget and quality targets.Collaborate with facilities, business, technical staff and vendorsto gather and translate business requirements into technicaldefinitions to be used for implementing a solution to meet businessneeds. Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously andprovide assistance with AV installations as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position reports to theDirector of Engagement and Client Technologies and directlysupervises the AV Technician position and may provide guidance /supervision to students employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Primary duties and responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to the following.1. Provide project management for AV and client IT projectsundertaken by Information Technology to ensure projects areconceived, designed, planned and executed effectively, efficientlyand within time, budget and quality targets.2. Collaborate with staff from the office of Facilities andother stakeholders across the College to provide leadership fortechnology related initiatives.3. Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously andprovide assistance with AV installations as required. Manage, trackand report on project schedules, budgets, and risks. Clarify anddocument project requirements and objectives, coordinate theefforts of project teams, acquire resources, manage third partycontractors and control project scope. Assist in the collection anddocumentation of project objectives, manage stakeholder and projectteam member expectations.4. Develop and review Statement of Work (SOW) and Build ofMaterials (BOM) specifications for each project / initiative.5. Consistently communicate project health and status tostakeholders. Escalate matters of significance; ensure that projectdocuments are complete, current and stored properly; collect,document and share project lessons learned.6. Provide leadership and guidance for the development,design, documentation and commission installations of AV technologyand systems to include AV Control, digital signal processing andwireless presentation to assure the AV technology needs of theCollege are met.7. Collaborate with the Director of Engagement and ClientTechnologies, the Provost’s office, Teaching and Learning withTechnology, and other members of the IT technology team to developa strategy for AV technology management and replenishment.8. Maintain an awareness of new and emerging AV technologies thatwould support the various teaching modalities and pedagogy,increase efficiencies and reduce costs. Implement a real timemonitoring utility that will allow proactive review of classroom AVtechnology issues.9. Ensure that the College’s AV environment meetsaccessibility, compliance and risk standards.10. Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets related toaudio-visual operational and capital project expenses.11. Define and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)that focus on hardware utilization in the classrooms.12. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness andcontribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and respectfulCollege community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior wheninteracting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to theCollege. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work andliving environment and engage in educational opportunities toincrease awareness and understanding of diversity andinclusion. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 yearsof project management experience with projects of various sizes andcomplexity, or the equivalent combination of education andexperience. Familiarity with industry standard project managementterms, concepts and best practices, along with strong analyticalskills, including the ability to interpret customer business needsand translate them into operational requirements. Well developedinterpersonal and communication skills and the ability toeffectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse groupof executives, managers, and subject matter experts. A diverseproject portfolio to include the familiarity with and successfulimplementation of AV projects within the higher educationenvironment is preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most of the work of the incumbent iscarried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoorenvironment. The incumbent will be required to operate a personalcomputer and associated equipment such as computer printers as wellas other office equipment used in the day-to-day office operations.Ithaca College understands our obligation to operate in accordancewith NYS Department of Health Guidance applicable to the COVID-19Public Health Emergency.
