How India cricketers spent their last day in Australia after historic triumph

first_imgIndian cricket team players celebrated their historic triumph in Australia where they won the Test and bilateral one day international series for the first time. After a gruelling almost two-month long tour of Australia, Team India travels to New Zealand for a limited-overs series comprising of five ODIs and 3 Twenty20 internationals starting January 23.India outplayed Australia 2-1 in four-Test series while won the three-match ODI series 2-1. The T20 series in November had ended 1-1 after the second game in Melbourne was washed out. While Virat Kohli had a below par Test and ODI series by his standards, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant emerged top two leading run-getters in the Test series. After a poor 2018 in ODIs, MS Dhoni was back with a bang. Dhoni not only ended as India’s highest run-getter in the series, he was also named the player-of-the-series. Dhoni hit fifties in all three matches and played an important role in India’s series victory in the ODIs.Virat Kohli was seen unwinding at the Melbourne Park after the ODI series. He was in Melbourne, with his wife Anushka Sharma, enjoying some Australian Open tennis action and posing for photographs with all-time great, Roger Federer. Notably, Kohli and Anushka had also watched 14-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic beat Canadian teenager Denis Shapovalov in a four-set third-round match at the Rod Laver Arena. Kohli’s posts also suggest that the star couple had been at the stands when Serena Williams crushed Ukrainian teenager Dayana Yastremska in straight sets in the women’s singles third-round.advertisement”An amazing way to finish the Australian summer,” he wrote on social media.
